1. L.A. County Fair --- thru September 23rd

It's the 2nd most wonderful time of the year!

The LA County Fair is back again at the Pomona Fairgrounds. Running now thru September 23rd, the fair has a Route 66 theme this year (including various $6.60 food, admission, and game specials).

On top of the usual merriment, this year's festival hosts a good musical lineup too: The Beach Boys, Luis Fonsi, Joan Jett, and KC & the Sunshine Band, just to name a few.

If you can hit it up during the week, you can take advantage of no lines, and steep discounts...

2. PaleyFest Fall TV Preview --- 9/6/18 to 9/16/18

Love it or hate it, Los Angeles' proximity to the entertainment industry effects our lives everyday.

But for 10 days in September, you can take advantage of that fact by getting a sneak preview of the upcoming TV season.

PaleyFest screens multiple upcoming pilots and season premieres, with the cast and creators appearing in seminars after each screening.

$20 per screening/Q&A, and $160 for VIP access to all screenings.

3. Smorgasburg LA - Every Sunday in DTLA

Before you roll your eyes when I say it's a Brooklyn export, give it a chance, hipster haters!

This is super fun weekly get-together that's a mix of farmer's market, food truck party, outdoor bar, and launching pad for soon-to-open LA eateries.

Parking is FREE for 2 hours at the nearby garage. (Yes, I said FREE!)

And the lineup is always rotating, so I suggest going at least once every other month.

And this current Sunday (Labor Day Weekend) is themed "Ice Truck Alley" -- nearly every purveyor of sweet things will be in attendance with various specials.

Note: Pets are not allowed due to the open air market.
