1. Inglewood Open Studios -- Saturday & Sunday

Inglewood's burgeoning art scene is on display for the 11th annual Inglewood Open Studios.

This is the biggest year by far, hosting dozens of artists and various galleries all over the area.

Admission is FREE, and artwork will be discounted for the event. A free shuttle service will be operating.

2. Chicano International Film Festival -- Saturday

The Chicano International Film Festival celebrates in 21st year in East LA. The event is all day Saturday, and is FREE.

Taking place at the Plaza de la Raza, the festival focuses on up and coming filmmakers in the Latin community.

3. War of the Worlds Opera @ LA Phil -- Various Times

Based on the classic Orson Welles performance that shook the nation, the LA Phil is putting on a new opera based on that infamous night in 1938.

Tickets start as low as $25, and even the best seats top out at $58. This is a great chance to experience the Disney Concert Hall if you've never been.
